A Networker's Positive Self Talk : Things aren’t always what they seem.

Take a minute and look around at your surroundings. Are you in a familiar place or are you someplace new? Try and find something that you may not have noticed before and give it your undivided attention. Really – just stop and look at it. As you continue to focus that object that you are focusing on should suddenly become “real” –you might even noticed something about it that you never saw before. Some people are able to stop and concentrate on one particular item with ease – for someone like me, you may have distractions and really have to make it a point to stop and focus.

Here’s a network’s positive self talk tip:  But no matter your level of concentration, looking at that one item changes how you view that item, your perception changed since the last time you saw it, and suddenly you are looking at the world with a different perception – even if for a second.

Things aren’t always what they seem.

We, as marketers truly bank on this fact. We all share our insights and trainings with others - to make them see things the way we do. It’s a skill that takes time to perfect but if you keep working on it -  it does get perfected. Just like in the movie “Field of Dreams” – if you build it – it will come, truly becomes the reality of your success. Brick by brick, step by step, layer by layer, you are building your destiny.

Dream your dreams, change your story, work on your skill, change your perception and you life will change. Think about your “why” and what caused you to look for something better, for the plan B and the opportunity to fire your boss. Think about how your life will be 5 years from now. If you woke up and everything was perfect…what does that look like? Now, write it out, focus on it, and start building it. Someone wise once told me the networker’s positive self talk tip #2 … “Everything begins with a decision – decide now what you want your reality to be” - Shake off the perception others have planted in your mind for you. You can truly be who you want to me and not what others have told you are. Things aren’t ways what they seem – so today dig deeper and change your reality.

Make today the first day of really shaping the rest of your life. Internalize your why and make it happen. You have to get a little dirty, loose a little sleep, shed some tears to build that building – that building of success and a legacy for your family but know this… “If you build it – they will come”, I am a living testimony of that and you are too.

 Why are so many people struggling in network marketing?

There could be many factors that can contribute to a lack of triumphant in network marketing and although I believe the product is essential to one’s success. It really isn’t about the product. Now of course you can not share a product with others that you do not like or even use yourself. Know your stuff- know your product do the research and be an expert – but a lack of knowledge is not killing your business. Something else is.

I know I know. Your product is the best and you can’t live without it. Believe I was there. I had a tremendous product. I was working hard, meeting new people, coming out of my shell and really talking with others about my product and the overuse term…opportunity. I shared the opportunity until I was blue in the face – until friends and family were avoiding my calls. – Come on…you know you’ve been there. You are either the person they were avoiding or you are the person who has been avoiding someone’s call who wants to “share” something with you.  We all fall in one of those categories. Either way, I wasn’t achieving triumphant in network marketing.

Here is the real reason many aren’t triumphant in network marketing … duplication. There must be a success formula that anyone – no matter how long they have been in the industry can duplicate step by step and see their own team grow.  The success formula should be one that entails online marketing. If you are not incorporating online marketing – you are missing out on a HUGE opportunity to grow your business and even have people checking out your site while you are sleeping. Think smarter – not harder is the way to go here. A thriving team has a success formula implemented that everyone is using to earn a significant of money working from home. And guess what? A good success formula and training shouldn’t cost you a dime. Duplication is the name of the game and a good team will already have this in place so once you come aboard all you have to do is implement it step by step to get instant results and be triumphant in network marketing

After 8 hours of grueling work and customizations, a quick tutorial on CSS, html and fbml –I finally created the perfect facebook fanpage yesterday. I am so excited and so pleased with myself. Now…imagine my surprise when someone inboxed me to say congratulations on my new page BUT then told me that after March 11 I would no longer have access to it and would have to create another one. Boy did I feel defeated. What a waste and why didn’t I do some research before creating this page? Facebook is always changing things: I should have checked it out. Now I had to learn how to change your fanpage from fbml to iframes. So… me being me … I hit to the internet and news for research in a quest to save my new page. And this is what I found…

Yes facebook will NO Longer allow for the creation of a new FBML custom tab/application. But any and all custom content that you had created with FBML prior to March 11 will still be supported. You will NOT wake up on March 11 and find your fanpage gone. Whew! Thank goodness. My page is saved and so is yours.

So what's next? Well, when you are ready to create or update your existing fanpage on facebook you will have to use iframes. Eventually you will change your fanpage from fbml to iframes. Iframes consist of html and css codes. However, there are new applications being implemented that will save many of us many hours and frustration from having to learn html codes and creating pages from pure scratch.

Many small business owners are terrified of having to build their own site from scratch and using HTML – who would blame them? When I first started it all looked like Greek – a foreign language to me. But rest assured – we have options.  

1. You can have your web design company create a custom fanpage for you, make it no more than 520px wide and just drop in into the iframe application on facebook. And you are done.

2. You could also, create FAN GATE. Fan gate is the code facebook uses that allow non-fans to visit your page and see a portion of your content but when they click the “LIKE” button and become a fan – all information and content changes to something for fans…i.e. Coupons, special offers, free gifts, etc. This tab is known as the Reveal Tab and I found it pretty cumbersome to use with iframes. So… I did even more research for a better solution.
 

I reviewed this company called “WILDEFIRE”.  Just this week WILDFIRE has launched their simple process for facebook called iframes for pages application. In just a few simple steps and some minutes, I was able to generate a new tab with my custom images, media and/or html as needed. What a relief!

So they first ask for permission to get access to your facebook first, which is common. Once you have granted them access then they will ask you which page you would like to download iframes for. This helps because if you have multiple pages but aren’t ready to change it from FBML to iframes yet, you are able to do so one at a time and at your leisure.

Next they ask you for your contact information in order to proceed further. Obviously this helps their customer base and gives you the chance to read their terms and conditions.

After filling out this short form and agreeing to Wildfire’s terms and conditions, the next step is a simple dashboard with three choices.

1. Fan Gate on or off. When “on” is checked, non-fans will see different content. When you check “off” the page will show the same content to both fans and non-fans:
2. Fans view – where you can upload a custom image directly from your desktop and Wildfire will host it for you. Or if you select the Custom HTML option, you’ll see a small field to enter your code (ideally created in a WYSIWYG editor).
3. Non-Fans view – ditto above! Use an image or HTML.

 

Once you’ve inserted the content you want for Fans and Non-Fans, click the Save & Preview button. Voila!

The default name of the “tab” will be “Welcome.” To change the name of the tab to something else (now that Facebook allows renaming of third party apps!),  just click the Edit Page button at the top right of your fan Page > click Apps > go to the new iFrames for Pages app > click Edit Settings > type whatever you wish in the Custom Tab Name field > click Save then OK.

More good news! “Wildfire’s iFrame application will be FREE for the next 3 months so get it while it’s hot! [UPDATE: We're so glad you've been asking— for those who are wondering, all users who install the app while it's free will be grandfathered in when the app becomes paid, and will not have to pay then.]”

This simple tool will work great for those with minimal technical knowledge for html. What a great alternative!

Note: There are many solutions and products out there that will help you adapt to iframes. Research and actual testing will help you decide which is best for you.

It’s been about 6 months since I left corporate America. My company was relocating and I wouldn’t be able to afford the move. My children were getting older and needed their mommy. I was tired of feeling overwork and under paid. I was feeling overused at work and tired and useless once home. I no longer had the desire to climb the corporate ladder- I wanted time and financial freedom and no one was giving it to me. I had to create the opportunity and that’s just what I did.

6 months later, there have been some really good days and there have been some really really bad days. But guess what? It’s my own company - I am doing what I love and more, connecting with people and changing lives. I get to drop off and pick up my oldest child - I am able to be with my youngest child throughout the day and really get a chance to see her grow and flourish. I have been blessed - I am blessed and will continued to be blessed. I am able to truly walk in my destiny, fulfill the purpose that God placed me on earth for - and that’s life altering. I smile - because I know through it all I am triumphant solider. I have victory over any obstacles - because like any glacier - it eventually melts away. The sun comes out and brightens up the day - I smile because I know there is so much more coming my way.

I am so excited to have joined a network of other home business owners who are making life changes  for themselves and their families. The drive and excitement they have is contagious and spreads like wildfires but even beyond that - the tools and knowledge they represent is priceless.
